I love all things organic, peaceful and simple... Family, friends & the beauty of nature are what give me the most joy. If I am not enjoying time with the people I love, or cooking in the kitchen, you will find me in the garden tending to my flowers and plants. Or in the woods hiking with my husband & our dog Freya. Simple pleasures are what speak to my heart. At an early age my aunt taught me the thrill of the hunt! We would scour garage & estate sales, flea markets & antique shops searching for treasures. She would take me on walks picking flowers and other findings that the season had to offer. Then we would take those treasures home & find the perfect spot for them. These precious moments with her are what sparked my love for decorating & design. I am a firm believer that our homes should reflect what we love. So I desire my space to remind me of nature for all its beauty & calm that it brings into my life. Peace to me is sitting under an oak tree & taking refuge in its shade. Seeing moss growing on a log, fuzzy & green. As you walk through my home, my space, you will find hints of nature hidden throughout. I am mindful of filling my home with gifts that nature has given to me. This is why I chose to name my business Oak & Moss, as a continuous reminder to me of the purpose of our homes & spaces.

I started out working for my grandfather's construction business at a young age. It was where I learned the value of a job well done. Whether it be on the crew cleaning up a job site or framing a house. Every job has a purpose & should be done with integrity. I may be able to build a house or remodel a room, but Melissa makes them a home. She has taught me to appreciate how your surroundings can elevate the spirit & speak to your soul. She is thoughtful to detail, making sure that all elements of the design are cohesive & purposeful. I love working with her, executing a project from concept to completion. To see her vision come to life in people's homes & see the joy she can spark in her clients is such an honor to be a part of. Can't wait to see what she can do with your space!
